Meaning: MX: Metal Extra Bias: Metal (Type IV) Description/History: Maxell's MX is probabaly the most interesting of all the Metal Bias cassettes that came on the market. I was introduced on the early 80's, and was selling really well since the start. The MX even received the same casing treatment as XLII-S in about 1985. It lasted right up until about 1988-89, when it would receive the round shell look. Mainly because Metal cassettes didn't need that much protection. Metal was always durrable.
